I learned from a friend that is actually pickin you guys up from the airport that you were coming to Anchorage! I know that you guys will have fun and you should try to visit our university's campus and hike our trails and see some moose. We have had alot on campus the past week! The mooses tooth is a great place to eat but it is always crowded and about that Alaska Native convention you guys should go Friday night for Quyana III dance night. And instead of $15 a ticket you could volunteer as an usher that night and see the show for free! I am also volunteering that night and it would be awesome if you guys could help out too! You would get to meet seem interesting people! You'll love it here!

ALASKA WEBCAMS

I meant to post these a few days ago and I forgot. Here's a few webcams for anyone interested. There are A LOT more to be found on the web if you do a search.

DOWNTOWN ANCHORAGE
Looking east on 4th Avenue: http://alaskacam.com/index.html

Looking north from the roof of the ACS building (on a clear day you can see Denali/Mt. McKinley on the right): http://www.acsyellowpages.com/webcam.htm

ALASKA SEALIFE CENTER'S LIVE STREAMING WEBCAM OF CHISWELL ISLAND'S SEA LION ROOKERY (35 miles from the Sea Life Center): http://www.alaskasealife.org/New/research/chiswell.php
Every once in awhile someone monitoring the webcam will move it so you'll be able to get a better view, so if the view isn't great, just give it a few minutes.

Leilani75, I LOVE Anchorage. Thanks for all your suggestions! I regret that we won't be able to do all of them. One of the things I really want to try and do is catch the Northern Lights, or the Aurora Borealis. It won't be on the show since our cameras aren't sensitive enough for it, but it would be a otherworldly experience. Again, thanks so much! You've been MORE than helpful.

Hello folks. While in Alaska I fully recomend that you go and visit the Alaskan Native Heritage Center. The Anchorage Museum of History and Art offers joint-addmission tickets for 20.75 a person. As a Native American I would love to be able to share a part off the culture of mericas first people if you decide to go here are directions: Exit at Muldoon Road NORTH, off the Glenn Highway. Take the first right, where the tan Alaska Native Heritage Center sign is located. The ANHC driveway is approximately one-mile long. Parking is free. Even if you don't make it to the center please try to make contact with NAtive Peoples throughout your journies in the U.S. May the Great Spirit be with you.

Mo_pearljam, I'm TOTALLY down for that. I'm really looking forward to some American Indian exposure, which I had wanted to feel in Alaska. Unfortunately, we don't have too much time for that. Frown I plan to in a future city.

It is my great honor and privilege to have met some of the Hualapai people. I would like to meet more from different nations. I love American Indian culture, and would love to learn more. The totems in Alaska just enthrall me.

Haha. I had a BLAST in Alaska. I am in love with the place. I am a total beach body, but I fell in love with the snow, the cold weather, the people, the city... it's chillaxtown. I'd like to thank Alaska for a wonderful time. I hope to be back.

As I write this, we're waiting to board our plane headed for Washington, D.C. See you all soon!

Hey Tj's! I am from Texas, but I have had the opportunity to travel to Alaska twice. I have some suggestions on some activities and a good resturant in Anchorage that you need to go to. In Denali National Park, there is a place where you can go to meet sled dogs and watch a demostration of these beautiful dogs in action. I know it is probably really expensive, but you can't miss going white water rafting in Denali. My family and I did that and had a blast! Also, be sure to take in the breathtaking mountain scenery.

As for the resturant in Anchorage, this resturant serves excellent omlets and breakfasts fit for a eskimo. The resturant name is Gwinnes. You have to eat here! Once you eat breakfast, you will be full all day!
