Not only to Ccs to an expensive conference (almost 500USD)....You should go to every place poor and wealthy restaurants. Even with our insecurity (Hey Now we won to Medellin as a city with more killings by fireguns!)
You should try All the mix and how people in venezuela we try everything, we always are trying the new, and the typical. If someone opens a Korean restaurant you would see people there no matter if they have 4 chairs. Venezuelans (most of them because of all the cultures among us, we try everything, we mix everything and we are nt afraid to try! Best example my Grandma was an illeterate person from Margarita Island (empanadas!) She was a Tailor (not a seamtress0 and one of the typical sunday meals was soup, empanadas, and kibbe and tabulleh (reason, the person who sold the fabrics was lebanese, so recipes go back and forth)
That is the only thing I repent of my gastric bypass, i can't be a food porn anymore, I have to eat every hour. And we don't ask for changing in the menues, we try.
And Now we have a good new wave of chefs, and maybe that is the only thing we could enjoy food. Of course you would find peopel that would never try anything weird.
My last birthday my friends took me to a secretive house 9sicilian homemade food0 the food started at 2 pm we finished at 8pm, and the thing was, bring everything, they had 20 different desserts. And one thing that we are accostumed we try everyone else food, it is not bad manners. Once, a friend of my father croos a restaurant to try from my plate! So if that is not enough, I don't know what else. Oh yes I don't like chocolate a lot, but chocolate with Katara (hot sauce made from ferocious ants) or any chocolate made from el rey you are missing half of the sound!
BTW once just windowshopping I was in NYC and I enter in Chanel, asking for some eyeglasses, the guy ask me where I was from. I said caracas. and he said, there is no time when I have a vacation I want to go there and go again to those amazing restaurants. I was impressed. the only time I have eat bad in here was in a stupid restaurant with phillipe stark design and gloves with the waiters...I found out I was a food porn start and I miss it. I will miss the adventours in food in my own city. And there is much more....You are missing seeing how we are foodies
