We dined in the Vegas locations of two of our favorites on our last trip, Aureole and N9ne. While I found N9ne to be not only as amazing but maybe even more delicious and posh than it's other locations Aurole was very different. Frankly we thought it was very poor in contrast to it's New York counterpart. The meal was good, not great, granted the dessert was great. Overall the restaurant seemed poorly kept and dingy. The staff was sparse and we saw exactly one bottle of wine extracted from it's centerpiece wine tower. To be honest, dessert really pulled the experice for us. Overall it was no where near the quality I have experienced at the NY location.
Has anyone else had good or bad comparisons with restaurants in Vegas?

In May we were in Vegas 5 days for business. We are at 6 "celebrity chef" restaurants -- Olives, Todd English at Bellagio; Nobu, Nobu Matsuhisa at Hard Rock; Wing Lei at the Wynn; B & B Restaurante at the Venetian; Aureole at Mandalay Bay and Michael Mina also at Bellagio. We stayed in a time share but spent any lodging savings at these restaurants. The biggest disappointment was Nobu where only the appetizers showed any creativity. B & B was the worst experience -- noisy, cramped, waiters just trying to turn over the table in 90 minutes. Michael Mina was nothing like the San Francisco flagship. Although the names may be in Vegas, the quality is not the same there. Give me San Francisco or New York any day.
