Hi,

My wife and I are going to Puerto Plata in the Dominican Republic this summer. Is it advisable or safe to try and make a day trip to Haiti? I would hate to be that close and miss an opportunity if there is something to see safely.

Besides the safety issues, it's a VERY long way from Puerto Plata in the north to Haiti. It doesn't sound very feasible for a day trip. In that short amount of time, you wouldn't be able to see/do much.
