This being my 3rd island to work on I must say that it is the easiest also! The beaches are great and the restaurants really cover your desires to satisfy the hunger. There is no damage from Hurricanes Ike and Hannah which is a tribute to the construction methods on this island. You have everything you need to enjoy a great vacation. Now I am a little biased because I work and live here but I can tell you that it has been a very comfortable lifestyle! Oh and there are NO Mcdonalds, No Burger Kings, No chain restaurants at all! But there are all your favorite foods available everywhere! I must strongly suggest the Saltmills Cafe where a middle road of diner and casual eating has been created. Perfect for families.

I'm thinking about retiring to the Caribbean in a few years. Can you tell me about moving to the Turks/Caicos, buying property, any other useful information? Thanks.

Of all the Caribbean islands I find the T&C expensive and boring. Other than diving there's not a lot to do there.

Do you have any suggestions? I'd like to find some place that isn't overwhelmed with tourists and isn't pricey.

Big Grin I loved Nikki Beach Resort! I think Turks and Caico is the best place to be but, Nikki Beach made it even more memorable! We went smart and went directly to nikkibeachhotels.com
Chef Mario provided us great food and DJ Felipe from Colombia gave us the best music! Nikki Beach had this lady I think her name was Lisa that was the VIP Sales Rep, she made our stay most enjoyable. She was helping us with EVERY question we had and she assured me that we would have our food in the hotel before we arrived and the high end deli food and liquor was in the homestyle fridge when we got there! This is NOT a place to miss out on.
