My background is the performing arts. But I have to admit there's no direct course of action on doing what I do. For me it was persistance and a whole lotta luck. I don't believe we will be doing the Polynesian. Our crew has been to Hawaii 8 times so we are a little hula'd out.

Thanks for your wonderful comments. Have you checked the schedule on The Travel Channel website? I know that the episode are posted at least a week in advance. Have no fear it being cable that episode will run for years.

I know the Salish Lodge well. I haven't ever gone but I did research it for a possible episode. Washington didn't make it for this season so I am really hoping we get to go to your gorgeous state in season 3.

Besides NYC which I love and have lived in for ten years I would have to say San Fransisco. We got to spend three weeks there shooting Hotels and I really fell for it.

WELL THANK YOU SO MUCH! Did you get a reply from Travel Channel? What did they say? They probably thought it was a family member in disguise. If i do get the big pay increase I'll be sure to give you the entitled 10% agent fee.

Good Morning to you too! I did love being in Sedona. It's a place that just stuns you with it's beauty each and everyday. How's the weather. I had to laugh while we were in Phoenix because it was around 110 degrees and everyone there says -but it's a dry heat. Yeah but it's still 110 degrees! The temperature must be about perfect there now. hope your day goes well

Thanks for the suggestion and your lovely comments. I really do get excited about every hotel because there is a different experience in each one, a sort of fantasy lifestyle they want you to lead while your there. I'm up to around 100 I believe and haven't slowed down yet.

We will definately be doing more Disney stuff. The newest Disney Hotel is Wilderness Lodge. I am pretty sure it's been airing. If not now then soon.

great question! while checking in is a fact of life in the hotel business it really doesn't make for interesting TV. So we make a very boring process as concise as possible. The hotel would never allow us to insinuate that a room wasn't ready due to their error. There are never lines because we shoot the Lobby at a time when the fewest people are there. We don't want to get in the guests way. Also if a person is in the shot they have to stick around until we are completely done shooting the scene for continuity reasons and give us permission to be on tv. Ever notice that they never take my credit card? My TV life is definately cushy.

We came to Denver this past July and let me tell you how much I love it there. We also were in Colorado Springs, Vail and Beaver Creek. The air there IS different and I found myself getting up every morning at 5:00am to hike the mountains to get me charged for the day. Usually I hit the snooze button and rely on really strong coffee to get me going. Unfortunately we missed out on The Brown Palace. We wanted to showcase what a young hip and happening place your city is so we did a relatively new hotel called Hotel Teatro which was beautiful.

Well thank-you! I am very proud to be your tv crush. The only thing I collect from my hotel stays are toiletries. I've got jars and shoe boxes full. My boyfriend says I can no longer bring anymore home. I still sneak'em in.

I can't tell you how much I have enjoyed being able to talk to everyone like this. I am in Las Vegas right now and it was a delightful way to spend a Saturday night. Please keep in touch. It's difficult for me to reply when I am on the road because I don't travel with a computer (maybe it's time I do) and there's no internet service in any of these big casinos. I had to walk to a nearby strip mall to an internet cafe. Lucky for me it's right by a sushi place so I'm off to have some dinner. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Great Hotels has made it to Primetime! Thanksgiving night it debuts in it's newest and grandest time slot. Check your local listings. I hope I'm not going against Willy Wonka. Because I would have to chose that over my own show. and so would my family.

Samantha, I think you are wonderful, and I love watching your show "Great Hotels." You have given me so many wonderful ideas! I have two questions for you. One, does the Travel Channel pay for your lodgings or do the hotels/resorts let you stay free will gratis to act as a promotional thing? Also, how do you maintain your wonderful figure? I know you enjoy noshing on all kinds of wonderful things, and I can't believe you can stay that fit! Thanks, and I am looking forward to the show on prime time. Love ya' Sam!

Samantha, Hello, how are you? Well, I was watching your show this morning and I loved it. Well, anywho, to my point. I read what you wrote about how you got your job and I was just wondering how you even started in this business. I mean, where you had to go to start doing commercials and such. I was wondering because, I like to get infront of people and do that kind of stuff, and I just want to know where I should go to maybe try and start. I am only 15, and I am not sure if acting is what I want to do.
Thank you, Laura *If you ever need a partner ;-)*

Dear Samatha,
I'm very intriqued with your ability to have the opportunity to travel and report on various locations. What lead you to enter into this career path and do have any advise or suggestions on how someone else could gain employment into this field. If you are able to expand on what your job entails and the type of experience that this field requires would benefit me in looking at the path I need to take.
I currently work for a fortune 500 pharmecuetical corporation and I'm ready to make a career movement in an area that would allow me to interface with people from around the world. I have some unique ideas that I thought would be very beneficial not only to the business owner, but also the customer at hand.
Any feedback or suggestions would greatly be appreciated. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Sincerely,
Angela Wheeler rwheel5@msn.com

...for the great previews of Hawaii. We made sure to visit Waimea Plantation Cottages after seeing it on the show. We can't wait to go back. We stayed at quite a variety of places on Oahu and the Big Island, but flew to Kauai to check out the island and this hotel. Loved both!

Sam, We absolutely adore you and feel lucky when it's raining all weekend and we can watch you non-stop without feeling guilty about not taking a hike or going out on the boat. It amazes us when you are in our neck of the woods and the Great Vacation Homes show is from Lake Rabun or Lake Burton. Our cabin is modest, but full of warmth, good food, good wine and, oh yeah, dogs. It wouldn't be of interest to the show, but you and your crew have an open invitation to come by for a visit. Hey Sam! I am very excited that your fans actually have a chance to talk to you! I think that is so cool! I am a student at Marietta College in Ohio. I have lunch between 12 and 1 and I make my housemates watch Great Hotels with me everyday. It's my favorite! For one hour, I can actually pretend that am somewhere else besides my room in the attic. The places you go to are great; you have great taste in vacation spots and decorating. Like most people, I think your personality adds to the show. Keep up the hard work. If you get a chance, check out the Historic LaFayette Hotel here in Marietta, Ohio. It's beautiful! Take Care! -Amanda

Hello I am moving to Hawaii and I am looking for a beach that was on a show awhile ago. It is a hidden beach that is covered in sea glass. If you know where i can find it that would be great. I am a bit of a sea glass collector. By the way i love all of your shows

Hi! My son was the conductor on the Pikes Peak Cog Railway when you did your Broadmoor show. I was wondering when that show is scheduled? I want to type it so I can send it to him at college. Thank you, Jan

Samantha,
I would love to check out some of your photographs. Being a photographer myself and particularly insightful, I am keen to see through the eyes of Samantha Brown. Do you have any of your pictures on display? Where can I see?
Truely yours, Eddie

I'm not samantha, but I hope it's ok to answer this one.
Actually, initially, I made the same mistake. I thought it was named "mohawk" too until I saw the name on the entrance sign. It's actually called "mohonk" resort.
And, I believe you'll find more than enough information at their website.
I hope this helps.

Hi, Samantha!
"Great Hotels" is a great show. Now that you've done Walt Disney World how about doing The Grand Californian and Disneyland Hotels at the Disneyland resort. Both are a lot of fun.

As you read above, Samantha will not be able to answer your questions until after Thanksgiving. We'll close this board for now, but keep it as a "Read Only" board so you can still see it. When Samantha gets back - we'll open a new one.
thanks - admin
