Hi Sam,

I loved your trip through Europe. I was lucky to have been sent to Italy for the army reserve to work on a project near Pisa. So it was great to see you covering some of the places I had just seen. Did you get one of the high quality Rolex watches that were being sold on the street? I passed it up even with the lifetime warranty they were offering.
I am looking forward to the new hotel series. My main interest are hotels that are actual suits. Some how the definition has changed. Suits used to mean two rooms with a door that closes. Now they throw in a microwave and call it a suit. So hotels with an adult room, a kids room and things for each to enjoy.

Thanks.

Jeff

P.S. Love you hair.

Samantha,
I enjoy your program very much and was wondering if Gettysburg is a possibility anytime soon.
I have a couple of fun programs that I present on a regular basis and would love to have you as a guest. My website is http://civilwartheater.com. Please feel free to check it out. I was featured June 19, 2003 on "The Magic Road Trip" for the Dinner Theater. The newest show "Haunted Battlefield at Gettysburg, however, has never been featured. Even if you're not taping, I'd be gratified by your presence. Hope to hear from you either way.
Thank You,
Joe Kerrigan

This is my first time posting...hope it's in the right place. Samantha, have you ever committed a social faux pas at one of those swanky places at which you've stayed? How was it handled?

Godspeed, Samantha Brown. May the road rise to meet your feet and the sun always be at your back.

Thanks so much for sharing your valuable time with us this week. It was a genuine treat to meet with you! Until we meet here again, we'll look for you in the lobby.

Oh, all right. Make it the bar then.

As my daughter (about your age) always tells me, take gentle care.

Hi Sam! Just want to say we've been watching you for years and my daughter has gotten to be a big fan! Every time we go to a hotel, she does her Samantha Brown impression as soon as we walk in the door. Looking forward to the new series, and hoping for more cruise episodes. We have gotten invaluable travel advise and ideas from you, many thanks!

Hi Sam,
I got most of my Christmas shopping done yesterday. I still have to get 2 gifts yet, but at least I got most of my shopping done. Wink

Thanks for sending me a picture! I got it in June. I didn't have a way to thank you, since you weren't on the boards when I got it. So I wanted to say thank you now. Smile

I hope all is well with you & your family! I was sorry to hear about your toes. Are they better now? Confused

What is your favorite Christmas song? Mine is Sleigh Ride. Smile Cool

What is was your favorite Christmas gift? Mine was when I got a new CD player a few years ago. It's time to get a new one again. Cool

What is your favorite Christmas memory? I think this Christmas will be my favorite. So I'm in the process of making my favorite memory. Wink Smile

I've had a blast talking with you, this week, Sam! In case I don't get back on here, before you leave the boards, I wanted to tell you so! Have a very Merry Christmas, and very Happy New Year! May 2005 be the best year yet, for you! Wink Big Grin Cool Smile

{This is actually the Grim Reaper posting}

So where did everybody go? [sounds of crickets chirping and wind blowing across the empty plains] Huh.... Well in that case, I'm out of here. Happy Holidays. As You were.

Inevitably yours, Reaper, the Grim

Well, glad that Grim Reaper's gone at least, and emptyhanded as well, I suppose as ill-advised a literary device as ever there was on this hallowed forum. Happy Holidays to everyone and happy travelling as well, especially, of course, to Ms. Brown. And as Hamlet says in his final words, "the rest is silence..."

P.S. the above post from the G.R does not count toward my total; let us never speak of him again.

well thanks! You’re going to have such a wonderful and memorable time in Italy, no matter what part of that beautiful country you go to. I have wanted to take Italian speaking classes because I know Italy will be a country I return to again and again for my whole life. I’ve got your email thanks.

WOW! That’s quite an itinerary. We didn’t go to Shakespeare’s birthplace but were in the Cotswalds so we saw plenty of Thatched roof homes. They’re pretty unbelievable and utterly enchanting. While we were in London my favorite musical Sweeney Todd was playing. The musical is based in London so I thought what a perfect place to see it. Unfortunately I never was done in time to make it to the Theatre. Major Bummer. I did get to see my favorite artist Edward Hopper at the Tate Modern.

Mt. Snow is excellent. Of course Killington is a doozy and I really enjoy Okemo in VT because it has fantastic tree skiing which is my favorite.

Merry Christmas Ashley

Glad to hear your patients are all alive and chewing on curling ribbon and ornaments as we speak.

I took a spinning class once and fell asleep for two hours after because it was so exhausting. There’s no way you should be doing that with a cold. So I’m glad you slept that’s your body saying you need to slow down.

For the Bike ride-The Tuscan region of Italy has A LOT of hills to climb and I mean whoppers. All the places you mentioned are going to offer drop dead views while you ride by ala Lance so I would be most interested in difficulty.

YES SAM I WOULD--WOULD IT BE POSSIBLE?

YOU WROTE---
hotelsfan

Thank you so much for posting the schedule. NO PROBLEM- I ENJOY HELPING

would you like to be my personal assistant? I WOULD LOVE IT. AS A MATTER OF FACT I AM CURRENTLY UNEMPLOYED- BEEN FOR 2 MONTHS AND IT'S TOUGH OUT THERE- WITH THE HOLIDAYS AND JUST COMING BACK FROM HAWAII-- IT HAPPENED SHORTLY AFTER RETURNING. I'VE BEEN A LITTLE FREAKED- TOO BAD THE OFFER ISN'T REAL AND I COULDN'T DO IT FROM HOME (MINNESOTA) - I'D LOVE TO BE YOUR ASSISTANT- LET ME KNOW IF YOU EVER REALLY HAVE THE NEED AND IF IT COULD WORK FROM WHERE I'M AT.

As for Paris. We did two eps there. the only thing we did not do on your list was the LOuvre. We featured the Musee d'Orsay (my favorite) and a little known musuem The Marmottan Monet which was an absolute jewel-- THAT SOUNDS GOOD TO ME-- DO YOU HAPPEN TO KNOW WHAT THE 2ND EP IS CALLED- IT'S NOT CALLED PARIS CULTURE AS WELL I HOPE-OTHERWISE IT GETS TOO CONFUSING.. THEY AREN'T PLAYING THAT ONE EITHER THE FIRST MONTH THEN- BUT WILL LOOK FORWARD TO IT IN FEB I HOPE.. ANY OTHER TWO EPS FOR ONE DESTINATION WE SHOULD KNOW ABOUT?-BESIDES LONDON-CLASSIC AND NOW

Hi Sam,
I see that there hasn't been a lot of activity on this board for you this visit--which means most likely all the Sam fans are out stimulating the economy with some super-size holiday shopping. I myself am enjoying some hot-buttered rum and thought I'd pop over to say goodbye to you before you are off again living the high life as a jet-setter.
One last question, if you had to pick an episode from your new series that is a MUST SEE--which episode would you pick?

Hi Sam,
I thought Sunday would be your last day. I haven't been on the computer since yesterday, and it's 9:34pm right now. I don't know what you're doing for Christmas, but I hope you have a wonderful time! Have you been to any Christmas parties yet. I had one last night, and had a great time! The party was hilarious. There was a pile of guy/girl gifts, and white elephant gifts. I got a pillow from each. However, my boyfriend & I didn't have fun driving, because the roads were terrible! The roads were pure ice! It kept snowing, and the wind was horrible! Why did we go then? Because we didn't want to miss out on the fun, and it was a chance to get together with friends. Wink Smile

I wish you 3 things Sam.

1. Safety on the roads.
2. A mild winter.
3. That you would have the best holiday season ever! Best of luck in 2005! Big Grin Wink

Au revoir!

Thanks so much for spending time with me this week.
I'm very anxious to know how you all feel about the new series so be vocal! There will be a special forum just for Passport to Europe starting when the series airs January 3rd. The forums are challenging to do because time at home is so short so I've incorporated the
journal and pictures. These are things I can do while on the road that help me communicate with all of you who have been so enthusiastic and supportive from the start.

Happy Holidays!
