As soon as we go to New Zealand I will have to call you for the inside scoop. Because of this forum I am so hooked up. My birthday was great the next few days went crazy and I found myself in two emergency rooms-one for my pregnant friend who is now doing excellently and the other for a rescued cat who I am happy to say is also doing better now. Orsin (the cat) has just stopped eating so of course we had all the tests done, made sure his teeth weren't causing him pain. It turns out he's just depressed upon being given up by his owner. breaks my heart.

you say your husband can re-create a certain hot dog icon's special sauce? oh please share. I won't be able to get to Maine until July. That was not me in the grey suit but if I was there I would have won that hundred bucks! I love cranium! Haven't played it in awhile but it's a fabulouse game.

Hello and good morning!

Sam...nice to see you on this morning! When we met in Jan, I had wanted to ask you about KittyKind, but time just got away from us! Cats that stop eating can become serious, especially in a tubby kitty that looses fat content quickly. Keep a close eye on him.

I missed this mornings episodes. Bummer. But I needed to catch up on some missed sleep. Do you know if GMH and GVH are back for awhile or just a tease.

Tuttle...cats actually like water in motion moreso than stagnat water. A lot of cats prefer to drink out of a dripping faucet. Chances are, the cat is simply playing in the pond and your fish are safe. I look forward to hearing from you!

Have a great day everybody!

Where can I get those socks!?! I love the idea of Barry socks!

I told my first boyfriend that I wanted "I can't Smile Without You" to be our song. I think that was the deal breaker for him. Any man who can't love Barry can't truly love me anyway.

I used to be a camp counselor and drive a huge van full of kids around all day. We used to have "country Friday" where I made them listen to country music all day (they hated it, I thought it was a blast!). I'm thinking I should have had "Barry Monday"... ah! That would've been so great! (Probably also would have been a deal breaker for the kids.)

Did I just admit that I like Barry Manilow AND country music in the same paragraph? Yikes.

What a beautiful post and thank-you for sacrificing your daughters homework to write it. I also loved the story you told so much that I cut and pasted it and sent it to my mom. I have to admit when I first saw your name I was struck with an intense dread. My 6th grade gym teacher was a Mr. Bradley and I thought he was writing to remind me how terrible I was at drills. Now YOU are the Mr. Bradley I will choose to remember. thank-you Big Grin

My favorite activity is one I just did in Aspen. Doing jumps on a snowboard. I just started snowboarding and when I nailed a jump I was on cloud nine. Of course seeing a volcano ooze and swimming with Dolphins ranks up there as well. I must be doing some good acting because I am petrified on a horse. And you can bet that every time you have seen me riding that horse has bucked me off or takin off in a western stampeed gallop with me on it.

It's funny one of my best friends is on a soap and she gets tons of baked goods from her fans during Christmas. Because they can send directly to the studio she gets them right away while if you sent them to the Travel Channel I could maybe use the cookies as weapons.

See now THIS is what i love about these forums that other fellow posters can help each other out. You have detailed a wonderful itinerary for our Chicagoboy. It makes me a bit nostalgic because that is one of my favorite parts of the country and I'm never there long enough to eat at all the wonderful places. Because when it comes down to it it's all about the eating Big Grin

Hello,

I just wanted to let you know that my husband and I are big fans! You have the perfect personality for your type of show. We love to take it easy on Sunday and read the newpaper while watching your shows.

We're from Portsmouth and Hampton and know Newcastle well. I think I'll always find this area (especially Odiorne point) amoung my favorite places no matter how far I travel!

I am not a Hotel fan, I am A Sam fan!!! I have never had a crush on a TV personality in my life till you came along...You have a great way about you and you represent the best Qaulities in a woman ever time you come on the air...Sorry the U.S. is losing you but if things don't work out Overseas the Nation of Tennesse would love to have you. I live outside Chattanooga and there are many scenic sites here you would enjoy...Lookout Mtn, The Great Smoky Mountains, Gatlingurgh, Lost Sea, Nashville, Memphis, Forbidden Caverns, Ruby Falls, Cloudland Canyon, Cherokee Indian Reservation, Trail Of Tears, and Stone Mountain to name several. Our accomidations tend to be more rustic and cozy instead of grand and brilliant but we did get running water last week when the TVA dam broke..lol. Love your sense of humor and your casual grace...Wish more Celebrities had that... You Remind me of the Southern Bells we use to hear of down here. If the English mistreat you we Irish will defend you...Good Luck And God Bless...Jaybo

It's the very fact that I don't have kids or an even bigger kid that I have time to work out. I would ask you "how do you do it?'

unfortunately I have never had the pleasure of visiting Ocean City. It seems like an oversight when you think of it. However, I would think that the resort town is seasonal and therefore booked months and months in advance making it hard for us to actually get some of the rooms. sorry I couldn't be any help but have a great time Big Grin

The Wentworth is amazing. That would make a great show! Especially the whole history of how long it sat vacant etc, etc. You could show off Portsmouth in the same show. And that could be your excuse to get home for a long stretch in the summer. Big Grin

I have lived here all my life and Tennessee seems to be very much appreciated by those who haven't lived here their whole life... Of course Dolly Parton has Dollywood here and many of the larger Country Music acts are Building Theaters here...Lee Greenwood, The Mandrel sisters and the group Alabama all have attractions close by. I truly envy you in your travels...I have been east to the ocean and Savanaha Georgia but very little West. This is very exciting for me...the only other Celebrity I have ever met was Sparky the Fire Dog. He shook hands with me and everything...lol Thanks for caring enough for your fans to brighten their day..Jaybo

I can't find the socks. They probably sold out. But, they do have this great t-shirt that says "Barry FANilow" in great big letters. I think you should sport it on one of your upcoming shows. Come on, I dare ya!

It must be morning because I just had breakfast (I just love time changes).

Finally caught the Nine-Zero episode and was struck by something different about you. It finally dawned on me. Nails. Red ones. Hmmmm…

I see Great Hotels is now going the way of other shows with the interesting blurring out of license plates. Okay, maybe I can see doing that to a private vehicle with the current fears of identity theft, but a rental car? What the thinking behind that?

In a couple of weeks, I will be attending a wedding of some co-workers of mine in your “ancestral” hometown of Reading, PA with a stop off in Philadelphia for a couple of days before hand (I’ll have to make a point to compare the cheesesteak sandwiches in both places to form my own opinion).

Take care of yourself and, as always, safe travels.

Ah yes Sam the week has come and it has gone. I would first like to thank you for coming to the forums and then wish you safe and happy travels in Europe. All of us fans will be waiting for updates so maybe you could keep Mod_Kelly up to date with info on the new show and a new forum. That aside, I see that you're a Berry Manilow fan and must ask- did you see the Will and Grace episode with him guest staring? Very, very funny. Best of luck in europe and come back soon Big Grin! We have all missed you since your last visit! Well, first of all, how are you? I am finally getting to talk to you. I have had school work to do for the past two days. I am so glad I have free time now! I hope all of your travels were fabulous. I know they must have, the new shows are so good. I wish I could have gone on some of the ones I saw. Big Grin The only bad thing is that the show now only comes on in the morning and at 3:00 and I don't get home from school until 3:30. Frown I am going to start watching them on Sunday, but I wish I could watch them all throughout the week. I'm sorry about that! I hope your mom and Fiona are doing fine. From reading another post, it seems like your mom had a great time during Beach Week filming. I almost gasped when someone said they thought Great Hotels was ending. I knew that it just couldn't be true, but I knew you would be on other shows, so it wasn't so bad, but now that you said that it isn't over plus you have new things in the works, that's even better! Well, I hope you have a wonderful evening and I will talk to you again maybe tomorrow.

Steven

Sam
I think I must have post when the forum was getting to the bottom of a page and you missed my post. I'm sorry it's took me until now to post again. I loved you on Beach Week. You were wonderful as always! Keep up the GREAT work!

the FOOD!!! I got so hungry posting to Chicagoboy that I had to go eat, and I forgot I had a comment and question for you.
First of all, thanks for responding to my post. I know I'm a newbie and not "one of you" yet (BTW, thanks again ChicagoBoy for being the only "regular" who said hi and welcomed me!) but anyhow, I'm not going anywhere.
I noticed in your one pic- I think it's the Lady Liberty (?) in NYC, the date is MY BIRTHDAY! August 13!! (We won't say what year, but suffice it to say, I believe I have a daughter your age..) I wanted to ask if you personally know or have met most of the people who post here? Seems so. If so, I want to extend a warm (but it's a dry heat...) Scottsdale welcome next time you come this way. I know you probably don't want to post your regular email address, but mine is LFCA1@cox.net, and I'd love it if 1.) You would send me a pic (prefer good close up- will explain in a sec.) and 2.) email me and let me know if you are willing to share an email address and/or will be coming to Scottsdale and will let me meet you somewhere and say "hi".
I know your plans are crazy, but who knows? Come next winter, Scottsdale might be lookin'good... Cool
Oh! The reason I asked for a good close up is that I am a portrait artist, and I would love to paint a pic of you- no big deal- I like to paint interesting faces. And I have an idea of doing a wall-sized painting of people that have or do inspire me or I just plain like (who aren't friends, but acquaintances). As you may have guessed, my house is pretty eclectic.....LOL
Thanks, Sam.

Hi Sam,
I was surprised to find Great Vacation Homes, on TV this morning.Big Grin You were in Colorado, and you were having trouble getting on a horse, but you finally got on after straining yourself. I know it well. I took riding lessons once, and being only 5ft. 0.5in. tall I always had trouble. Ferretpossom is hilarious, but I haven't seen his website. I didn't know he had one. Can you tell me the name of his website?Confused I've never toilet-papered anything in my life, but I have the feeling I would have been right there with him & Mother O, tee peeing the academy's homes. I have 2 recipes to share with you. You're probably saying, "Oh please no more recipes." I think you'll like the recipes though.

ZUCCHINI PASSION
1lb. Grd. Beef
1 Onion(chopped or diced, however you like them)
1 Can of Tomato Soup(undiluted)
1 tsp. Italian seasoning
1/4 tsp. Garlic Salt
Zucchini & Mozarrella Cheese

Brown beef & onion, drain. Stir in soup & seasonings. Slice zucchini over top cover & cook about 10min. until done. Then top with cheese. Melt & serve.

MINI-CHEESECAKES
2 Cream Cheese pkgs.
3/4 Sugar
2 eggs
1 Tbsp Lemon Juice
1 tsp Vanilla Extract
1 Can pie filling(any flavor you want)
15-20 Vanilla Wafers

Put 1 vanilla wafer in each ****in cups. Mix first 5 ingredients together & pour into ****in cups. Bake at 350 deg. for 20min. Dot each with spoonful of pie filling & serve when cool.

I hope you like the recipes Sam! That goes for everyone else too! Cats are funny animals!Smile Everytime my cat Allie sees a bird or squirrel, she comes zooming downstairs, up to the big picture window, and her tail is going a million miles a minute. Then she goes zooming down the hall, to see where the bird(or squirrel) went. Just remember to keep your eyes posted for SNL repeats, so you can see Colin Firth!Wink Cool
Since this is your last day with us, I want to say have a wonderful time, until we meet again!Big Grin Have a magical day, Avitizane goodbye Sam!

To Chicagoboy589: Oh boy! You're doing an essay on Frankenstein? I remember it well! I didn't exactly have to do an essay on it, but I had to do a book report. I felt sorry for the monster, because he just wanted to be accepted & loved, like all of us do. However he wasn't, and when he was shunned from the family he lived with for a year, that's when he went on a rampage. In a way it reminds me of the Beauty & The Beast story. Both Frankenstein's monster and the Beast wanted to be loved. Only difference is, the Beast was transformed back into a prince after he won the heart of the fairmaiden Beauty. Frankenstein's monster never found it. Okay, enough of my book review here! See, I remember it, even after being out of highschool for 4 yrs! Teachers grill you in school, so things are seared into your brain! Before I read Frankenstein, I had to read about Mary Shelly's background. It was actually kind of fun learning about Mary Shelly!Smile I love to read!Smile Have fun traveling this summer, whether for fun or debate team!Wink Smile

To Captuttle: Oh pray tell, how do you speak so eloquently? Smile When you visit England again, you must write back and tell us all, of the boundless beauty, about England's cities and majestic hillsides! I can just see the sun setting over greenest grass ever known. I know it would take my breath away!Smile Big Grin I think I shall write a poem about England. Have a wonderful day, and have fun traveling!Smile

P.S. May I ask why you're heartbroken?
Frown Confused

To Ferretpossom: You make me laugh! Big Grin Did you and Mother O really tee-pee the academy's homes? Oh boy, what a riot!Cool I just read in one of Sam's posts, that you have a website. I didn't know that. I asked Sam what the the name of it was, but I think I should ask you. What is the name of your website? I would make a website, and have tried, but I'm what you call technologically challenged. Oh well. I hope you're doing well. Have a wonderful day, and have fun traveling!Smile

To Sandiegan(I hope I spelled that right): Your recipes make my mouth water!Razz I only wish someone would invent smell-a-vision, so you could make your recipes one at a time, then we could smell them through the TV set!Big Grin Keep those recipes rolling our way!!!Big Grin Have a great day!

Hi Sam,
I just re-read some of your posts. Your little story about Orsin the cat, touched my heart! It me sad.Frown How's Orsin doing now? Do you know why his owner gave him up? I know it's not possible, but if it were, I would adopt every cat & dog out there! If you want to read a weeper of a story, go to this website when you have time: www.netlaughter.com. They have a story on there about a cat named Ugly. The poor cat was basically tortured to death.Frown It made me cry! I can see myself 30 yrs. down the road. I'll be known as the "Pet Lady." I'll live in the country, with a farm to house lost & homeless animals. Since I obviously don't live in NYC, when you go to Kittykind, give Orsin some extra attention for me!Smile

Samantha,
I have to leave in a few hours to pick up mom for her first outing since her cancer surgery, they got it all, thank god, but she wants to go see a movie, loves movies almost as much as I do.
And since I probably won't have a chance untill much later, for you at least since I'm on the west coast, it'll still be early, I wanted to say happy travels, and I wish for smooth flights and calm seas, and that you make sure to take the time to really enjoy what you experience, it's a once in a lifetime thing.
I'm still trying to write the long three pager, but I think this will be the closest I will get,
need to start working on my rewrite, start shooting in two weeks. Wish me luck, and don't forget to look for my name next February for the Oscars, Best Live Action Short Film.
Please be safe and happy. Look forward to the photo, and I thank you in advance.

Wow, I feel like the capttuttle on the last forum. Posting and posting. Ah well, I cut down my posts on the other forums, so ill have this one and then I promise to take a day long break.
Milnemgal- An artist- what a fun hobby! I have had my tries with painting in art class myself, however the majority of my works resemble a stick figure. I guess some of us are more gifted then others. Scottsdale must be a fun place to live. I have an uncle who lives right outside of vegas, and I dont know how you stand that dry heat, but it is indeed a beautiful area. Hopefully sam will get your email request and get a pic out to you by the next mailing. Isn't it nice she does all of this?
Dramaqueen-I think we might just have to make our own cook book for sam. Come to think of it, that would make a lovely gift for her if she had a po box or something. You're recipies look like fun- seems like something that kids would especially enjoy due to the simplicity of the recipies . Heck anything with Vanilla, sugar, eggs, and cream cheese couldnt be bad. I've babysat a few times as well, and they sure do love to get in the kitchen. Funny that you read the same novel, but I guess its highschool english 101. We had to learn abotu Shelly's past too, and the circumstances under which she wrote the novel were quite funny in my opinon. Interesting comparison though. The monster is like the beast, except one becomes handsome and one dies. No wonder depression was so wide spread back then. Was wondering if you caught the GVH and Girl meets hawaii episodes this morning. Fun to see old shows back again isn't it. Between that and last nites SNL with The Donald it was a good 24 hours of television. Okay okay I've got to brace myself. Enough for today. Sam will surly come on later and then the forum will be closed tonite im asuming. Have a great day everyone and talk to ya tommarrow!Austin

Sunday Salutations!

Looks like Sam and other forum members have been quite busy since my Friday visit. It took me nearly an hour to read trough all the posts. Don't know how you do it Sam, managing to reply to our barrage of questions and opinions. Glad to hear that the two emergencies that kept you away were resolved relatively well. The story of the rescued kitty broke my heart too. Since I detected a bit of a feline thread running through several of the posts, I feel safe to share that I still miss my two cats, one of whom was 24 human years at the time of her passing. The animal hospital who cared for her for so many years made a financial donation to the Companion Animal Memorial Fund at the University of California, Davis School of Veterinary Medicine in her memory. She was the oldest patient in their database.

I'm tickled to find you enjoyed the description of the scenery on my walks. Should you ever feel compelled to take a much deserved 'break in the action', you have an open invitation to join me. While you are not doubt up to more strenuous activities like running, those days are well in the past for me. Never much liked it anyway - too hard on the knees.

On a different note, while watching Great Vacations Homes this morning, I was reminded about a comment you made about your brown hair color. How the producers called you after the Hotel Del episode of Great Hotels to 'suggest' it might be well to go back to the blonde highlights. Well put me down as one who believes you look just fine as a brunette. I had forgotten how pretty your natural hair color is. Would they have told Audrey Hepburn to streak her Hair?

Today's airing of Nine Zero and the Wheatleigh were a fine choice to end the new Great Hotels entries featured since the fall. I have thoroughly enjoyed most of the New England selections. They are truly some of my favorites out of all three seasons. Although I have to agree with Tuttle that the footage from the Ritz Carlton Half Moon Bay is some of your best! Shows why that camaraman of yours is so deserving of the Emmy nomination. I will look forward to the airing of the Sante Fe, New Mexico episode. Can't wait to see the Margarita Monday talked about on the Great Hotels forum by someone who met you there while filming.

I'm sure I'll think of at least three other things I should have said once I click 'post now.' Guess they'll just have to be saved for your next visit, whenever that might be.

Mother Orange and Tuttle - It just wouldn't be a proper forum without you. Your eloquence brings a touch of dignity and establishes a tone for the rest of us to emulate. The opportunity to contact you outside of the forum is something to which I greatly look forward.

Kelly - So did you manage to complete that monstrous list of 'to do's'? You have been working WAY TOO HARD recently. Step back and make some time for yourself. Will contact you later.

Chicagoboy - The suggestions given to you about your upcoming trip from the expatrioted Californian are sound ones. A stop at Taylor's in St. Helena is an absolute must! Try the Miss Kentucky (chicken, jack cheese, grilled onions, mushrooms, tomato, slaw, barbecue sauce, and ranch dressing). The onion rings aren't only good, they're absolutely addictive. Don't pass them up. Wonder how Sam managed to miss the place while she was there filming nearby?

Ashley Kristen - You have been missed princess.

New and Returning members - Thanks for some good reading which hopefully will carry on in the other forums when Sam must inevitably leave us.

sam_fan_no_more - neiner neiner. Sam is a woman of her word as you must now see. There, I got that out of my system.

Yardwork and laundry await me. I'll take in an extra deep breath when I smell my white lilac bush for you Sam.

Toodles,
Carol

Chicagoboy589: I did catch this morning's episode of GVH! Unfortunately I didn't get to watch all of it, because I was rushing to get ready for church! At least I watched some of it! I think Sam would love a cookbook made up of all the recipes her fans sent her!Big Grin

Milnemgal: How wonderful that you're an artist! I love arts and crafts! Every Easter, my town of Sparta has a contest for everyone called "Eggs-Glorious." People paint a huge cut-out wooden egg. You can paint your egg however you want, and then on Easter it is displayed right downtown. I have seen very extravigant designs on those wooden eggs. I wanted to do it last year, but I entered kind of late. You asked Chicagoboy589 if he knows most of the people on this forum. I believe the answer is no. A lot of us have just become friends through the forum.

I shall say tootles, and have fun traveling!Smile

Hello Samantha,

I'm not sure if you have already been to these three places yet or not. But I highly recommend them.

http://www.cranwell.com

They are all located in Massachusetts in the Berkshires.

Chicagoboy: Thanks for the compliment on my reworking of the Quizno's song for Sam. I envy you a little, because of the many places you've been in only 16 years on this earth. You're sort of living out my dream of seeing the USA(which I still hope to do one day if I win the lottery or get a better paying job), so keep letting us know about the fantastic things you see in our great country.
Sam: Great response to sam_fan_no_more. Classy and restrained, but we wouldn't expect anything less from you, now would we?
I enjoy mingling with all of you when Sam comes in here, and I look forward to doing so again next time. See you soon! Smile

It's now Good Evening to You in The East Coast,

Still late afternoon here in California and will be light even later since daylight saving time began this morning at 2 AM. Everybody spring forward with no problem?

I remembered one of the three things I forgot to say. Are you aware Sam of the book by Patricia Schultz titled 1,000 Places to see Before You Die? I purchased it for inspiration and am slowly working my way through it. Started with the United States portion since that is the subject matter with which I am most familiar. ANYWAY, You my dear Sam have amassed quite a few of the suggestions already in your young life. I thought of you while reading of Lanai because the author makes mention of The Manele Bay Hotel and Lodge at Koele. It's a great book for a mostly armchair traveller such as myself. You might find it an interesting resource for spots to see in Europe. Take a look at it the next time you're in the travel section of your local bookstore.

There, now you're safely rid of me. Big Grin Be good to YOU lady.

Carol

Oops - one last thing, promise! Hey dejardins - I was wondering about the digital smearing of the license plate on the car Sam drove up to the Wheatleigh just like you. First time I'd ever noticed it in a Great Hotels episode.

Hey, dramaqueen. Where is Sparta? In the south somewhere? I am thinking Carolinas.....? Sorry, geography, ironically, was not my best subject- THEN! Now I be never taking off my travelin' shoes, in case some trip should fall into my lap! Ah, no problemo for me coming up with a way to spend a lottery's winnings......
(Of course I don't play the lottery, so....)
Anyhow, your contest sounds great. Are you in it this year? I am totally self-taught, been drawing all my life. I'm really proud of the commissions people have entrusted me to do. I love to paint!
Sam: Have you been to Le Meridien in St. Martin? (http://www.lemeridien.com/west_indies/st_martin/photographs1_sm1694.shtml)
Love, love, love it. I even thought of buying real estate there. Great place, happy people everywhere, pina coladas, sun, surf, sand....but then there's the hurricanes.....
I'm surprised you get to keep your air miles!! That's great of TC! WHEN would you get to use them (or even want to??) LOL
ChicagoBoy: I didn't realize you were but a lad of 16!! Is that right? Did you get my recommendations for CA? How do you get to travel so much? Do you go with your family? Lucky you!!
keldvm: Did you ever hear of/watch The Pet Psychic on ANPL? I can't find that show anymore. I have a psycho poodle. I really need to find an honest to God therapist......for her.
She does have her own web page, for godssake. Being an internet darling should be enough for her to be happy, but nooooo......she is one snarly beeyatch.....
Speaking of which, she calls.

Must not write, must hold back...oh to heck with it. I just cant keep away. But it is the last night for this forum, so can you blame me?
To hummingbirdlady- mmmmm that Miss Kentucky sounds like a cant miss for sure. I will add that to my list of places. And I must say that I found you remark to fan no more amusing. I was laughing by tush off! Big Grin. Out of curiosity, I wonder if that was the sam person as Sam_fan_I_am? same format of name.......
dramaqueen-Wasn't GVH fun? I really think that it would be nice if we all put a favorite recipie on that post in samantha centeral. A little fun thing to do and pass time between GH and Samanthas european adventure.....but we must remember that there are still several episodes of GH left. I for one cant wait for those to air. Halekulani is an amazing hotel. DONT MISS IT! Big Grin
smittenwithsam- I know this is going crazy, but did you ever see the origional clip of those animals from the quizzno's commercial singing about the moon? Funny, funny stuff. Anyway, seeing the usa shouldnt be a dream for you, make it a reality! The beauty of this country is you can go anywhere and do anything on a budget that fits you, with accomodations and food for all. I think im working on absorbing all of the travel I can- two years and I'll have a good long while off Big Grin. Happy travels!
milnemgal- From newbie to regular in only a few days? And you felt like a duck out of water? Im sorry I missed the question about friends on the forum, but dramaqueen answered right. Though I dont think anyone has met in real life, we've been posting for awhile, and just enjoy the talking to one another. Yes, I am 16, despite my typo on my first post to sam. As for traveling so much, I do it with my family every oppertunity we get. I did get your suggestions for california and beleive me, they are in my database of info. Its gonna be a big trip for us (two weeks second only to our month in europe) so we want it to go as smooth as possible. If you ever feel like it, theres a post on the Great hotels forum dealing with your favorite hotels. Since we've been mainly on the talk to sam forum, I havent gotten to talk travel with you, but I cant say anyone who reccomends St. Martin to sam has bad taste. Check it out. Good night to all, and once again best wishes and happy travels to sam!

I am definately getting that shirt! I would never be allowed to wear anything like that on the show HOWEVER my executive producer Howard Lee is also a major fan and just might get a kick out of it.

Well,Samantha, you are absolutely right, you would have won that Pee Wee contest hands down. I notice you do raise your eyebrows at times in a very Hermanesque way, such as at the end of the memorable "included, included, included" beach scene at Kona Village, which I saw last night. Great special, by the way!
My husband is still trying to perfect the "special sauce" but so far it's just NOT really the same. If and when he gets it right, I'll post it over on the newly-created recipe thread. The real thing in July will be much better for you and for me. I think the waiting in line makes it taste better. (Flo's Hot Dogs, folks, Cape Ned****, Maine)
You can rest assured that I will be happily doing travel research in the coming months. Breaking news flash! Father Orange and I will be heading back to S.U.'s London Centre again for the fall semester. We usually go on a four year rotation, (went in '91, '96, '99, & '03) but this time, no one else wants to go, so we are stepping up to the plate! Over the years, we have managed to see quite a bit of the U.K., Ireland and western Europe. I'll always keep tea and sweets handy in case you and the crew decide to drop by, and I'm taking the Cranium game if you feel like taking me on! Remember that S.U. also has centers in Madrid, Strasbourg and Florence, so you will never be too far from your Orange family.
You know, Captain Tuttle is really on to something with the movie tie-ins. People yearn to see movie locations. That is why Father O. and I went all over northern Scotland, putting ourselves in the scenes from a favorite movie, "Local Hero." People used to stop me in the street all the time to ask where Hugh Grant lived in Notting Hill, and where the bookstore was. And almost everyone is nuts to see Harry Potter locations these days. This could be an interesting focus for some of your European shows. I can picture our Samantha in Austria, standing in a flowery field high above Salzburg, perkily spinning around like Julie Andrews. Think about that! Your little head has lots of new things to think about, doesn't it?
In closing, thanks to everyone, new and old, for joining in this week. It amazes me how many of us stumbled upon this place because of a common interest in a TV show host. And as it turns out, many of us find that we have things in common and knowledge to share with each other. And thanks especially to you, Samantha, for making it possible for us to enrich our lives by making these connections. It is yet another "service" that you so graciously provide!
Take good care of yourself in those contract negotiations. I don't want you to end up destitute like the Three Stooges! You deserve everything you ask for.
Safe Journeys, Mother Orange
P.S. It is snowing again!

funny story behind the nails. I bite them down to my nubs so I thought I would try fake ones. Would you believe i started to bite off those too. That might have been the lowest point in my life. And that's Red Sox Red to you buddy Big Grin

My mom (a Reading PA native) says that you need to go to Sammy's Steaks on 12th and buttonwood near St. Joeseph hospital. Get a cheesesteak with sauce and some handcut fries. I also believe they have vanilla and cherry coke on fountain.
