You need to do your homework when traveling to foriegn destinations, why not do the same when you travel to the Fort Myers area. If you're a big spender, try along Estero, South of the main beach area. Plenty of people are renting out their condo's on the cheap, and for 5 star locations. If you're interested in a hotel, you'll find places all along the beach front, from Fort Myers Beach to Naples. A word of caution, if you ride along Estero Blvd while people are making there exit from the beach, you're in for a long wait in line, the same goes for entrance to the island. The Fort Myers area, form what I understand won't allow the building of a new bridge to get people quickly on or off the island.
